A fantastic group activity with epic coastal sights beyond Melbourne’s city limits, the Great Ocean Road runs along Australia’s Southeast coast and will easily curb your road trip enthusiasm. You can hail a rental car and make it a quick day trip out of the city, but locals recommend two or more days to really experience the hidden gems for surfing, kangaroo spotting, whale watching, and even forest exploration! This one is a given and you’ve more than likely recognized Australia through this landmark – the Sydney Opera House! It is Australia’s #1 tourist destination and is actually a protected World Heritage Cultural site for its groundbreaking architecture and prime location in the country’s largest city.
